UNODC Judicial Ethics Training Package

UNODC Judicial Ethics Training Package

1 April 2020

This activity is part of the Judicial Integrity pillar of the Global Programme for the Implementation of the Doha Declaration, which was adopted by the Thirteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in 2015. The Declaration reaffirms Member States’ commitment to: “Make every effort to prevent and counter corruption, and to implement measures aimed at enhancing transparency in public administration and promoting the integrity and accountability of our criminal justice systems, in accordance with the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

In recognition and amplification of the important role that judiciaries play within the regions, the Southern and Eastern Africa Chief Justices’ Forum (“the Forum”) was established in 2003 to, among other things, uphold the rule of law, democracy and independence of the courts and to promote contact as well as co-operation among the courts in the regions of its operation.
